Auburn Football: Week 2

The Auburn Tigers came into the game yesterday with a huge win against the Arkansas Razorbacks winning 45-21 from las week. The Tigers faced the San Jose State Spartans yesterday and looked like a walk in the park for Auburn.

Auburn received the ball to open up the game. The Tigers drove down the field but coughed the ball giving San Jose State the ball.

The Spartans went five plays before punting the ball back to Auburn.

The Tigers second possession was a dominated run attack that gave Auburn a touchdown. The score came off a four yard pass from Nick Marshall to Ricardo Louis that put Auburn up 7-0.

After a 65 yard kickoff touchback the Spartans got the ball. San Jose State only needed one play and that came off a 75 yard touchdown pass from Black Jurich to Tyler Ervin. The game was all notched up seven a piece.

Auburn continued to dominate the run game with a brilliant scoring drive that gave them another touchdown. This time the score came off a two yard power run by Cameron Artis-Payne. The Tigers were up 14-7.

San Jose State began to drive the ball down the field but after 11 plays Jurich had a pass intercepted by Jermaine Whitehead that gave Auburn the ball.

Auburn's offense continued to overpower the Spartans defense with another score. Artis-Payne pounded his way into the endzone for five yards, his second score, that pushed the Tiger's lead to 21-7.

The Spartans got the ball and were forced into a three and out.

Michael Carrizosa punted the ball 40 yards and Quan Bray returned the punt 55 yards for another Tiger touchdown. Auburn pushed the lead to 28-7.

Auburn once again forced the Spartans to go three and out giving the Tigers the ball.

The Tiger offense scored with ease coming off another power run by Artis-Payne for a one yard touchdown. Auburn led 35-7.

San Jose State managed to drive the ball for a score. The Spartans kicked a 27 yard field goal making the score 35-10.

San Jose State's defense managed to force Auburn into a three and out.

The Spartan offense did not help their cause, Jurich had another pass intercepted this time by Jonathan Ford giving AU the ball back.

Auburn drove the ball down the field for another score. This time it came off a 27 yard field goal by Daniel Carlson pushing Auburn's lead 38-10.

The Tigers would take that 38-10 lead into halftime.

San Jose State received the ball to open the second half. The Spartans drove down the field having no luck scoring by missing a 29 yard field goal.

Auburn managed to get in five plays before punting the ball back to San Jose State.

The Spartans put together a scoring possession that resulted in a 24 yard field goal that made the score 38-13 Auburn.

Auburn got the ball back and pounded the ball on the ground for another scoring drive. Marshall broke off a 27 yard run that gave Auburn a 45-13 lead.

San Jose State got the ball and went on another three and out.

Auburn's next possession was a mixture of the run and the pass that gave the Tigers another score. Jeremy Johnson powered one yard into the endzone that push Auburn's lead to 52-13.

The Spartans tailback on the next possession broke off a 17 yard run but luck was not in his hands. The Spartans fumbled the ball and Auburn recovered.

The Tigers got first and goal from the three and managed to put into the endzone for six. Roc Thomas ran the ball three yards into the endzone for the score that built Auburn's lead 59-13.

Auburn managed to hold their huge lead and win the ball game 59-13.

Artis-Payne was not the only one to carry Auburn to their huge victory today. Artis-Payne had 112 yards rushing with three touchdowns. Auburn's offense had 493 yards of total offense today with 358 coming on the ground.

Auburn's next task will come Thursday, September 18 against Kansas State. Auburn will hope to come away with a win on their first road game of the year.
